A judge declared a mistrial in February, and the retrial began August 18.
Jury deliberations started Thursday following closing arguments.
Prosecutors said Arnold intentionally put her baby in the microwave oven and cooked the child to death after a fight with her boyfriend.
Arnolds' cell mate testified that Arnold confessed to putting the baby in the microwave and turned it on because she was worried her boyfriend would leave her if he found out the child wasn't his.
The baby's DNA was found inside the microwave in Arnold's apartment, prosecutors said.
Defense attorney Jon Paul Rion said there was evidence someone else was responsible.
He cited testimony from an 8-year-old boy who said he saw another boy walk into the kitchen of a nearby apartment with the baby, heard the microwave go on, and then later saw the burned baby in the microwave.
Judge John Kessler declared a mistrial February 11 after he privately heard testimony from the juvenile.
In rebuttal, however, the 8-year-old's mother testified Wednesday that they lived some distance away and they were not at Arnold's apartment complex when the baby died.
Her former live-in boyfriend also testified that he was certain the boy was not at the location.
Courtesy of CNN News --
______________________________________________________________________________________

BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A longtime sex offender was sentenced to death Wednesday for the 2005 kidnapping, torture and murder of a 9-year-old northern Idaho boy after federal jurors who watched video of some of the brutality deliberated just three hours.

The jurors' recommendation was binding on U.S. District Judge Edward Lodge, who thanked them, dismissed them and then sentenced Joseph Edward Duncan III.

Relatives of the victim, Dylan Groene, remained somber as the jury's decision was announced. Duncan murdered Dylan's mother, older brother and his mother's fiance to kidnap him and his younger sister, who was sexually abused along with her brother but survived.
"The jury speaks the mind of the community," U.S. Attorney Tom Moss said. "By the verdict today, they have given voice to the victims."
Duncan showed no reaction other than smiling as the verdict was passed to the judge.
He took Dylan and the boy's then-8-year-old sister, Shasta, to a remote western Montana campsite where he raped, tortured and threatened them before shooting Dylan in the head and burning his body. Jurors viewed horrifying video Duncan made of him sexually abusing, torturing and hanging Dylan until the boy lost consciousness.
"This defendant is dangerous. He is a predator who takes pride in his work," prosecutor Traci Whelan said. "He earned this day. His actions ... call out for the death penalty."
Duncan acted as his own attorney but had offered no response to prosecutors' closing argument.
"I have no argument," he told the court.
With an eye toward kidnapping the two children, Duncan stalked their family. In 2005 he entered their Coeur d'Alene-area home and used a hammer to fatally bludgeon their 13-year-old brother, Slade Groene, his mother, Brenda Groene, and her fiance, Mark McKenzie.
Duncan was arrested and Shasta rescued weeks after the kidnappings when a waitress at a Denny's in Coeur d'Alene called police after recognizing the two as they ate.
Duncan pleaded guilty in December to 10 federal charges involving the kidnappings and the murder of Dylan. He pleaded guilty to the other three murders in state court, where he also could be sentenced to death.
"I am so glad this is over. Justice has been served," said Darlene Torres, Brenda Groene's mother. "It's been very painful."
She said that when she saw Duncan in court, "I seen nothing but an evil, empty, coldhearted shell."
In closing arguments, Whelan reminded the jury of Duncan's lifelong "pattern of violence," including a conviction for raping a boy at gunpoint in 1980. Duncan has told investigators he killed two half-sisters from Seattle in 1996, and he is charged with killing a young boy in Riverside County, California, in 1997.
Duncan may now be brought to Riverside County to stand trial in the death of Anthony Martinez.
Whelan told the jury that Duncan would pose a risk even to prison guards and fellow inmates.
"This defendant uses the time that he has to think out these plans and he is dangerous," she said. "He is adaptable and he is dangerous."
The heinousness of the evidence in Dylan's murder made it particularly difficult for the jurors to remain impartial as they deliberate, said Art Patterson, a jury consultant and senior vice president of the trial consulting firm DecisionQuest.
"Generally, for human beings, it's pretty hard to maintain impartiality when confronted with such horror," Patterson said.
"How could any juror not want to see this person removed from our list of living human beings? How could you live with yourself as a juror if there's any chance this human being could escape from jail and do something like this again?" Patterson said.
Courtesy of CNN News --
______________________________________________________________________________________
Straight off; This author believes strongly in Capital Punishment. What is more insidious than the crimes against children?
On Wednesday, June 25, 2008 The United States Supreme Court in their "infinite wisdom" that child rapists cannot be given the much deserving death penalty and thus, reserving the punishment only for murderers. Before hand, there were six states that reserved the death penalty for these kinds of vile creatures that feeds on humanity's most innocent.
Personally, I believe it's high time for the American public to speak out and force federal legislation to rectify this law making the rapists of children, and for that matter, all rape with the exclusions of litigating circumstances, a death penalty.
Also in saying this, we should work on expediting the processes of the sentencing, appeals, and the execution processes quickly. It is also obvious to this author that the United States is argumentatively, the freest nation in the world also has the biggest prison system in the world. Something is obviously, out of kilter with this. Is it the fault of the ACLU or something?
Sure, maybe, I mean, with some help, but ultimately, it rests squarely on the shoulders of the American citizen.
I chose these two latest criminal candidates worthy of "Old Sparky" or any other means of immediate death. I've been a proponent of the death penalty since I could remember. Again, in saying so, what is more deserving than hideous crimes against our children?
In the course of my life, I talked in "one on one" discussions with many women and talking about the suffering, alienation, guilt, and unfathomable sorrow suffered from rape victims, victims of child abuse, I quickly came up with the conclusion of one certain and resounding truth: There are such things that are worse than death.
I have listened to all those who agree with me of the necessity of capital punishment, the death sentence, and or the extermination of the vile humans who commit such atrocities. In fairness, I also listened to those who are against these means. Still, I am staunchly for the death of child molesters, rapists, murderers, and of course, terrorists.
Strange thought entered my mind just now, "It would be easy for America to kill Osama Ben Laden so quickly, and though he and the likes of him are certainly worthy of the 'switch', why not terrorists against children too?"
Now, I am all for and support due process of law and all. Texas is one state that comes to mind real fast in the "Express Lane to the Executioner..." Florida is another top contender. Wreaking such crimes against our children is nothing but a horrid form of terror, nothing more, nothing less, and I say "Red on Positive, and Black on Negative -- Throw the damned Switch!"

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-08-30T18:12:52Z</dcterms:modified>

Modern Day Vampires -- They Suck!

From the Desk of a Demented Mind...

As a published author of the Chronicles of Caledon series, I freely admit that I have one hell of an imagination (to write about). The next thing that you are expeditiously drawing to a conclusion is, "Great, the fucker doesn't believe in Bigfoot, but he believes in Vampires?"
Well, you might be right, and of course, wrong. Let me explain, I don't believe in the traditional sense of vampires though I do however write about one and several of the likes in my series. I do believe in the fact of people who call themselves Vampires, you know, the Goth types, and that's cool. I will also admit that I find these folks fascinating and a lot in common, that is, with these Goth types -- Each to their own style and way of life.
I am rather torn though, I mean, what if you can be some sort of mystical, fanciful, supernatural creature, and what would that be?
Like I said, I am torn, I can't decide whither or not to be a Werewolf or a Vampire -- Could I be both?
I guess that's why I love movies like the "Blade Trilogy" and the "Underworld" stories. Shit, good old Kate could suck on my neck and a couple of other male gender parts on my anatomy anytime as long as I get to devour her!
No, what I am talking about is something a bit more than a Goth, something far more common, and unlike the Goths out here, these Vampires fucking suck, and they are, unfortunately, for real. I know when I begin to further explain, you'll find yourself nodding your head in agreement.
Let me give you a little backdrop. I know this woman who can easily be a traditional vampire, and she just may be good ole' Count Dracula's long lost bride that escaped being burnt, beheaded, impaled, or staked through the heart. Her name, whoops <radio edit> we'll call her Isabella Romanovski. She is actually a Russian, a very beautiful Russian woman, a former model in the 1960's and she has a body of an 18 year old cheerleader -- She's in her 70's.
She lives up in a very secluded cabin, a very tech loaded with cameras, armor plated window shields that can come down and with all the other features, well with one control, the whole two story cabin is locked down and secured.
She has two very big Bull Mastics with a combined weight of way more than me. I'm a big guys! When I met her, her skin was a porcelain white as the finest china in Europe. Her eyes a hypnotic ocean of blue, and as about as deep.
Her hair is a soft glow of silver and white, tall, slender and firmly but slightly bouncy in all the right spots. She certainly knows full well of enticing a man with her feminine charms -- Most effective. Isabella claims that she was once married to a prominent doctor in the region and has been widowed for "many years..."
There is much more I can divulge, but I am savoring the details for my PhatomWorks project, so I won't, no, not here, not in the light of day...
One thing that I will tell you folks, being around her I lost track of all sense of time, and that she is a "Day Walker" so my theories of being a true vampire in the traditional sense is challenged. However, some of the side effects is confusion of thought, and even articulating my thoughts around her is somewhat difficult, or impaired.
Also, and this leaves me to believe that she is certainly a vampire of sorts, least in the modern frame of things. I feel very drained and weak both emotionally, spiritually, and of course, physically. I won't give out her name or location, she would be a hard person to find since most of the folks around here has never seen her, and only a few people have heard only very little about her in the first place. Yes, she is surrounded by mystery and secrecies.
She keeps to herself for sure...
Enough about Isabella, except that I talked to a lady friend of mine here in Deadwood about her. She, like so many, never met this woman, but she knows the type with absolute certainty and told me under no uncertain terms that this "Isabella is nothing more than a feeder of energy, a vampire..." Julie, my friend, and could of been the next X-Mrs. Taylor, warned me in more detail.
Julie also informed me that I need to do some research about this type of vampire. I am certainly a believer of "these" types of vampires, after all, I met one!
In my research moved by my dear friend Julie, this is what I've found to be the "modern day" vampires if you would and these types have been around since the beginning of time. You may know them by another name, another label -- Nevertheless, whatever you call these types, their all the same, vampires!
An introduction to emotional vampires:

Emotional vampires come in various shapes and sizes. Despite the several sub-types, one factor that they all have in common is that you feel emotionally drained after spending time with them. Besides feeling drained, they often take up your time and in some cases money as well. Emotional vampires tend to run in families. If you encounter one, you will want to avoid it and their family members as well.
Some emotional vampires have money. Those with money often use their money as a lure to entice you into their power. Once you are caught in their power they will take the life out of you. In the case of those with money, they will use your desire for money and greed as a way of keeping you in their clutches. They will use not only money, but also drugs, sex, secrets and anything else to have something on you in order to keep you in their control. “You owe me...” is a frequently heard phrase coming from these types.
Some people use the term emotional vampires. Again, other terms used are "users" and "takers." We all often have a sense about these types although there are different names for them depending on our experiences with them.

What are the types of emotional vampires?:

The first type is the needy, helpless type. The needy persons often play the helpless role in an effort at getting you to take action. They often interact with a passive way of taking action. They "suggest" or "ask" for what they want from you.
Sometimes it is direct, sometimes it is indirect. Whether direct or indirect, they know what they want. For example, if they want a glass of tea. They may make a comment that they are thirsty, or ask you for a glass of tea directly. When I think of this type I often see those large eyed cats that often look so pitiful and helpless.
Another type is the depressed vampire. These are the ones that move slowly. Sometimes they make sounds of struggle as part of their routine. They make every day look like it is a struggle for them. These are easily recognized. They often say very negative things and seem to energize themselves by cutting down and talking about others.
They often have a long term frown on their face. When there is laughter it is often forced and almost a cackle rather than genuine belly-jostling laughter. Due to their extreme depressed mood, they often suck the life energy out of you and everything in the room. I have seen these types suck the life out of electric fans and other inanimate objects as well. You can feel these types when they enter a room.
The worst is the necrophilia type. This type is the depressed vampire on steroids. They take depression to a new low. This type does not enjoy life at all. They often talk about their losses, and surround themselves with somber music or even the lack of music. Music may even be somewhat of an annoyance to them, something like the light of day for the traditional vampires. In my brief studies of these types of vampires, those that have pets, the pets seemed downtrodden with an overburden feeling of dreadfulness and or hopelessness.
In the same studies, I found that there is a trait amongst them, the majority do not like common pets or refrain from having any at all -- Good for the pets, no animal should live under such dreadfulness.
Their rooms are often morgue like, with photos and mementos of life that no longer exists. They items they have reminded them of their losses rather than the happy times they may have experienced.
When they review their lives, they recall the mistakes, deaths and losses. They talk about death and how life itself is such a struggle. If you listen to them, there are often themes of "revenge" or talking about how people do not deserve things, envy in all others. It is this morbid aspect that separates them from the depressed type. Goths may look scary -- They enjoy their lives and friends greatly, but these types of persons actually do take the life and enjoyment of life out of you in a fucking hurry. In my opinion, there's no known drug to me that will bring you down quicker than the walking dead.
I also know in reflection, that these people do show some sort of "happiness" or "lightheartedness," though short lived by feeding upon the misfortunes in others around them. I even had a woman that claimed that she hates me because of my outward and enthusiastic humor and manner. I am just too strong for her to take down the light in me.

How to deal with them: (No Garlic May or May Not Work)

Based upon General Opinions of Others

1.) Set boundaries. Know ahead of time how far you will go with people. Do not let them violate your boundaries. When they hook you into a crisis, they often violate your boundaries or force you to compromise so that the guilt from compromising your values can be used as leverage against you.
2.) Pay attention to your gut feelings. If you gut tells you to stay away, listen to it. When you sense the draining of energy, do not ignore the sensation. The good Lord gave you those sensations in order to protect you from such types of people.
3.) Learn how to turn away from guilt. When you can not be hooked, they do not have any power over you. Remember they only have the power that you give them. The more you give into them, the stronger the hold they have on you. Don’t feel guilty if they have hurt feelings -- They usually don't have any and just a shallow deception.
4.) Surround yourself with life and lively things. Listen to lively music dress lively and so forth. Make it a point to enjoy life. Since emotional vampires avoid life and liveliness like the plague, use it to re-energize yourself and keep them away. Rather than garlic, the thing that keeps away these types of vampires is liveliness -- I use music as a weapon that feeds energy into my soul.
5.) Move a lot. Activities like dancing are invigorating. The despondency that often accompanies emotional vampires tends toward extreme passivity the antidote to that passivity is activity and lots of it.

What are their methods?:

It is not unusual for emotional vampires to be in crisis and have ways of "hooking" you into their crisis. Once hooked a kind of bonding takes place, you begin to feel like a victim. Since you went through a crisis with them, they expect you to stay with them. You may hear themes of how only you could understand them, or how only you can help them. There will be other comments of how you are the exception to miserable world in which they live -- Don't buy into there bullshit.
Besides crises, they often use crying episodes as another hook. The crying or threat of crying often creates guilt feelings in their victims.
True guilt occurs when you violate a moral principle or law. In dealing with them you have broken no law or principle, they want you to feel like you owe them something. Some family structures used guilt as a motivator in raising their children. Children raised in such homes are often more vulnerable to these emotional vampire types -- I know this from experience with my Wife who came from such a family as well as I did.

In Conclusion:

Isabella Romanovski didn't fit into any one category, she is another type altogether with some similarity. But she lead me to this interesting study just the same.
As much as I am attracted to the macabre, the creatures of the night, I love the light of things, laughter, friends, and being among the living, but then again, I have my moments.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-08-29T05:12:30Z</dcterms:modified>

Frauds in Georgia... Go Figure?

From the Desk of the Demented...

Well, it looks like those two tree-banging hicks from Georgia that would have been a perfect match for a new revival or remake of "Deliverance" -- "Boy, you sure do have a 'perdy' mouth..." than a couple of super-sleuth Bigfoot hunters.
As it turns out on the CNN video site, the "Bigfoot in the Box" was nothing more than a rubber suite. However, I called it first like many of you, "It's a fucking hoax!"
As I stated earlier in the past articles about this farce, the men responsible for this facade should be gut-shot in public with a high powered rifle and stuffed in the Ice box with a sing posted, "Here lies two dead hicks for fucking with Bigfoot." Not to mention, the general public.
Maybe Bigfoot will be chilling out with his "tree-banging" babe in the murky backwaters of Hokum County, Georgia enjoying the news on TV while sipping a nice cold beer.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-08-28T20:08:35Z</dcterms:modified>

The American Taliban and Bigfoot.

From the Desk of the Demented...

The last few days, and for me, the former last two, I've been blogging about the so-called find in Georgia about the latest Bigfoot Hoax. Perhaps I am jumping the gun a bit and labeling it all and putting it down as exactly that, a fucking hoax. When you listen to these two country bumpkins, you got to come to the stark realization that these two men are far from the sharpest tool in the shed.
As much as I like to believe that there is a great ape living in America, living in the wild for a millennium skirting on the edge of a mythological legend, well, then we get more of these bozos ruining it for those who have the time to waste in trying to find scientific evidence into proving that this creature may exist. Needless to say, only the truly faithful still hope. I am not the "truly faithful" by any stretch of the imagination. I am for the record, certainly not a zealot neither.
In scanning across the massive expanse of the Internet looking for more proof into this latest case of the Bigfoot saga, I of course, came up short -- To be expected.
People believe in general of all kinds of shit, some quite crazy, and some totally dangerous. You may have read my piece within this blog of my latest encounter with a "Christian." This Christian is a friend of mine, she lives up to my expectations of what a Christian believes and therefore conducts her life in a so-called godly way.
She lives by a selective perception of the 10 Commandments and she practically lives somewhat successful in this way of life. She doesn't watch any show or movie that is beyond the "PG" rating. She believes that Rock music and Heavy Metal is nothing more than "Satan's Work." She goes to church every Wednesday and Sunday, she loathes cursing and perverted thought. She thinks smoking is one of the deadly sins -- Nowhere in the Bible does it say that it is, and when I ask her about it, she says, "Well God didn't know or understand what the invention of tobacco would later cause..." Okay, so "God doesn't know about a good many things then.
I remember the look on her face, "Oh dear Doug, God knows everything..." All said in the same conversation. She also has been known for sleeping around with other men quite often, though she is married. Her weakness is men with a stiff...
You get the point, least she does quite often. least so I'm told, and did I say that she is married?
Hey nobody's perfect and we all know religious people who call themselves Christians and do things like this. Listen, I don't mean to pick on her, and I don't care if she has a mouth full of ordained cock on the alter or takes it up the ass by her pastor -- Least she is over 21 and a female, so I know that she isn't a Catholic.
Nothing bad against Catholics, but of late, aren't they, the priests into child pornography and having sex with young boys -- You know sodomizing the young lads of your congregation?
Besides, I once knew a very popular preacher in Great Falls, Montana that used to fist-fuck and gang-bang a former stripper after the Sunday Night Service in the men's locker room at his youth center. When they were caught, three pastors shoving their peckers in any available orifice of this woman that later they claimed that it was the Devil in her that caused them to do this. The woman was later banned and excommunicated from the grounds of the church -- Bad Satan, bad.
What about these men of God that were barnyard fucking this broad and treating her like a small domesticated farm animal?
Two of them lost their jobs, yup, I said jobs, and the head pastor that started it all was later dismissed and then hired back on leading the church and only again to be found sticking his religious cock in her accommodating back-door when some of the elders accidentally walked in on a board meeting that he forgot about. Yes, anal sex is still a sexual act, Padre!
Again, this woman was banned from Church, but not the Pastor's office, evidently...
Hey, I'm not against a good piece of tight ass, who isn't? Nonetheless, please Pastor, pass the Astro-glide!
Christianity, and all the rest of the organized religions are nothing more than a sham, a tax exempt fucking sham, and that goes for Scientology and all the flavors thereof. Did I say that I used to be a Christian once upon a time, and an ordained minister to boot -- Yet, I never stuck my fat cock into something that I should not before, during, and thus far, afterwards -- I guess I just wasn't a very good minister then.
None of these people are what I call the "American Taliban." No, the American Taliban is something more devious, more subversive, more diabolical and nefarious. The fascist minded zealots that are into breaking you down to nothing and building you back up in their design, having sex with many children and marrying them off to old men who take their communion with holy water and viagra. We all have heard in the news about the American Taliban and stories of pastors of super or mega-churches fucking thousands of mindless dweebs known as sheep one way or another, right?
"I want you to stretch high towards God and reach deep into your pocket books. The pastor has received word from God that he needs a new two-door Cadillac, and his (fucking whore of a) wife needs a boob-job."
Pastor John Hagee, let's talk about this fat little man of God from Texas, I'm fat too, so I can say this without any reservations. I used to love watching him back in my Christian days -- This is what this outstanding member of the American Taliban said about the New Orleans' disaster when (God put on his whirlwind suite as) Katrina came into town, and mind you, this what happens when these leaders are held unaccountable to think on their own -- Remember, God speaks to them directly and never through you -- Least that's what they'll tell you.
Yes, all on their own without any help from rational thought or reality when it comes to "curses" in the case of the 2005 statement from this man of God (whose endorsement was solicited and received by presidential hopeful John McCain) blamed Hurricane Katrina on God's wrath for a gay parade that had been scheduled for the Monday of the storm's arrival:
"I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they are — were recipients of the judgment of God for that..."
The religious troll isn't the only asshole in the cloth that said or believes this. Don't believe me, shit, just go and buy his latest venue of books -- In Jesus Name!
What's really the fucking shame of this is that there are many non-critical thinking piss-poor Christians who first, believe the likes of this little (minded) man, and secondly, defend his way of thinking.
Who knows, maybe Bigfoot is real and God does really hate all kinds of people, whiter they sin or not?
Do you suppose God hates me then?
I mean, I am not gay, I have a couple of friends that are gay, lesbians, and a whole host of sins -- Will a tornado come into Deadwood where we have gambling and such, I mean all kinds of hellish and henotheistic ways.
No, God doesn't hate anyone. The Christians and other monolithically based faith believes there is only one God. Can't be. I mean, no fucking way. The schizophrenic and social-psychopathic characteristics mindset of the Old and New Testament God is anything but loving and carrying.
According to the Old Testament teachings, the Philistines were a race created by God for him to hate (1st and 2nd Samuel) and this so-called same God also preferred a certain race of people over another. "First the Jews and then the Gentiles..." (Pick any Gospel.)
Moses began a blood cult, enslaved and raped young girls while saying this is the work of God, ordained by God to do so. Deuteronomy.
Christianity still today enslaves the mind, torments the human soul, and some sects still rape the innocent. Strong statement, I am certain of it. But I have the truth and the media to give any of the Lord's sheep plenty of proof.
Nope, the more you study, research the history of the Bible and who really wrote it and when, the more you quickly come up that Christianity and for that matter, Judaism is nothing more than stories predicated on previous or older religions and the mythological predecessors before it.
Again, I digress...
No, you cannot be a Christian and believe in things like Bigfoot, ghosts, and anything else because there was a study done in a 2004 survey conducted by Baylor that finds just the opposite -- and for those in Gaming in Deadwood, well we're all gonna go to hell in a hurry!
Another study, of 391 U.S. college students done in 2000, found that participants who did not believe in Protestant doctrine were most likely to believe in reincarnation, contact with the dead, UFOs, telepathy, prophecy, psychokinesis, or healing. Believers were the least likely to buy into the paranormal. "This may partly reflect opinions of Christians in the samples who take biblical sanctions against many 'paranormal' activities seriously," the Wheaton College researchers wrote.
Let's examine this a little closer, in a 2002 study in Canada did find a correlation between religious beliefs and paranormal beliefs, Cronk notes. He figures that among other explanations, Canadians may not have the same belief systems as U.S. residents.
"My guess is that religiosity has a lot to do with how you were raised, and less to do with genetics," Cronk said. "Those people who may have a high genetic susceptibility to 'faith-based knowledge' may end up being highly religious or may end up having belief in the paranormal depending on how they were raised. Those people less susceptible to that method of forming beliefs may still end up being highly religious if they were raised in a religious family."
Religion vs. paranormal

Mencken, the Baylor sociologist, says sacrifice and stigma (for holding ideas outside the group norm) keep the paranormal at bay among the highly religious. He has two papers forthcoming that are based on a national survey of 1,700 people.
The first, to be published in the journal Sociology of Religion in 2009, reveals this:
"Among Christians, those who attend church very often (and are exposed to stigma and sacrifice within their congregations) are least likely to believe in the paranormal," Mencken told LiveScience. "Conversely, those Christians who do not attend church very often (maybe once or twice a year) are the most likely to hold paranormal beliefs."
A third group, which he calls naturalists, do not hold supernatural views, Christian or paranormal.
Another study to published in December in the Review of Religious Research, shows that those who go to church "are much less likely to consult horoscopes, visit psychics, purchase New Age items," and so on, Mencken said. "However, among those Christians who do not attend church, there is a much higher level of participation in these phenomena."
Profiling the typical Bigfoot believer turns out to be as challenging as determining the scientific methodology of a psychic, however.
"Perhaps amazingly, [paranormal beliefs] are not related at all to education," Stark said. "Ph.D.s are as likely as high school dropouts to believe in Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, ghosts, etc."
The 2006 study of college students, done by Bryan Farha at Oklahoma City University and Gary Steward Jr. of the University of Central Oklahoma, reached a similar conclusion. Belief in the paranormal — from astrology to communicating with the dead — increases during college, rising from 23 percent among freshmen to 31 percent in seniors and 34 percent among graduate students.
Bader, the sociologist at Baylor, and his colleagues teamed up with the Gallup organization to conduct a national survey of 1,721 people in 2005 and found nearly 30 percent think it is possible to influence the physical world through the mind alone (another 30 percent were undecided on that point). More than 20 percent figure it's possible to communicate with the dead. Nearly 40 percent believe in haunted houses.
Asked if "creatures such as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster will one day be discovered by science," 18.8 percent agreed while 25.9 percent were undecided.
In a remote Himalayan village, on the other hand, belief in Bigfoot's cousin, the yeti, is seen by some as a sign of ignorance.
Media-Mania

Today's ubiquitous and often one-sided, promotional coverage of the paranormal, both on the Internet and TV, perpetuate myths and folklore as well or better than any ancient storyteller. Fiction and belief masquerade as fact and news, feeding the 24/7 appetite of the easily swayed.
Scientists are left with an impossible task: proving something does not exist. You can prove a rock is there. You can't prove that Bigfoot or a ghost or the god of thunder is not there. Bigfoot paraphernalia purveyors and cash-cow psychics know this well -- Fucking trust me in saying this, they certainly do.
Hey, I believe in ghosts, and damned it, looks like I'm going to hell anyway because I believe in nothing that the so-called book has to say about God. Do a psycho-analysis of God and you'll find out very quickly that the Christian God isn't worth a solid good goddamn anyhow, nor is his bastard son Jesus and the spook in the bed sheet called the Holy Ghost -- Yet they don't believe in Ghosts, whatta 'bout the tale about King Saul waking the prophet Samuel up that was in the grave chumming with his fathers and when Jesus said to his boys, "...For I am not a ghost..."
Oh fuck, now I'm confused. Maybe believing in Bigfoot isn't a bad thing after all. I mean Bigfoot wouldn't condemn me to hell for having a woman swallow my cock, and I certainly wouldn't have to give a priest a blowjob to gain entrance into the kingdom of God, would I?
If Bigfoot was the head of my church, would I be subject to have to give 10% of my earnings to the church, and what does God need with my measly shekels anyway?
Would Bigfoot insist that I read and live by a book, a manual, and a spokesperson only to speak to God anyway?
Shit, more questions to ask God Almighty who roams the hills and mountains in Georgia, Washington, Oregon, British Columbia, and elsewhere?
Fuck it, I'm not as easily swayed as others I guess -- I'll just stick with my own thoughts about God -- Christians need not apply...

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-08-20T00:24:37Z</dcterms:modified>

Bigfoot Remains as Elusive as Ever!

From the Desk of the Demented Mind...
PALO ALTO, California - Bigfoot remains as elusive as ever.
Results from tests on genetic material from alleged remains of one of the mythical half-ape and half-human creatures, made public at a news conference on Friday held after the claimed discovery swept the Internet, failed to prove its existence.
Its spread was fueled by a photograph of a hairy heap, bearing a close resemblance to a shaggy full-body gorilla costume, stuffed into a container resembling a refrigerator.
One of the two samples of DNA said to prove the existence of the Bigfoot came from a human and the other was 96 percent from an opossum, according to Curt Nelson, a scientist at the University of Minnesota who performed the DNA analysis.
Bigfoot creatures are said to live in the forests of the U.S. Pacific Northwest. An opossum is a marsupial about the size of a house cat.
Results of the DNA tests were revealed in an e-mail from Nelson and distributed at the Palo Alto, California, news conference held by Tom Biscardi, host of a weekly online radio show about the Bigfoot.
Also present were Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, the two who say they discovered the Bigfoot corpse while hiking in the woods of northern Georgia. They also are co-owners of a company that offers Bigfoot merchandise.
Despite the dubious photo and the commercial interests of the alleged discoverers, the Bigfoot claim drew interest from Australia to Europe and even The New York Times.
Biscardi said the DNA samples may not have been taken correctly and may have been contaminated, and that he would proceed with an autopsy of the alleged Bigfoot remains, currently in a freezer at an undisclosed location.
______________________________________________________________________________________
As more news of this elaborate Hillbilly Hoax comes in, the so called "Doctor" Paul Van Buren turns out to be Whitton's own brother, and not a doctor of nothing. The lies continues from these two hillbillies in their press conference on MSNBC.
I seriously doubt, as time progresses, the media and scientific community will no doubtfully further expose these idiots as just another sad hoax. Yes, this writer will go ahead and claim that this mythical Bigfoot creature is nothing more than a hoax, or it could be nothing more than a bad case of Georgia hillbilly inbreeding discovered.
Nevertheless, when the full truth comes out, these mother-fuckers from Georgia should stand to be gut shot by a high powered rifle as I mentioned in my earlier post. Fucking Hillbilly hokum.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-08-17T17:53:59Z</dcterms:modified>

Bigfoot -- Show Me The Money!

From the Desk of the Demented Mind...

"I'm not asking anyone to believe us. I'm just asking them to sit and watch, because you're going to eat your words." Rick Dyer (a 31-year-old Georgia man who runs a business that offers Bigfoot tours, claiming he and colleague Matthew Whitton have DNA evidence and photographs of a dead Bigfoot specimen).
(CNN) -- A pair of Georgia men faced more than a half-hour of skeptical questions from reporters Friday as they defended their claim that they stumbled upon the body of Bigfoot while hiking in a remote North Georgia forest.
Introduced by a publicist and beside a man who promoted what turned out to be a fake Bigfoot discovery in 1995, Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer repeatedly said that their claim is not a hoax and that scientific analysis will prove it.
"We were not looking for Bigfoot. ... We wouldn't know what we were doing if we did," said Whitton, a police officer on leave after being shot in the hand while making an arrest. "I didn't believe in Bigfoot at the time. ... But you've got to come to terms with it and realize you've got something special. And that's what it was."
The men say they were hiking in early June when they discovered the body of a 7-foot-7, 500-pound half-ape, half-human creature near a stream. They also claim to have spotted about three similar living creatures -- and showed reporters video stills of what they say is one of those creatures shadowing them through the woods.
The announcement, which the men first made on the Internet radio show "Squatch Detective" several weeks ago, has been greeted with healthy skepticism, even among some Bigfoot enthusiasts.
Scientists, including the head of North Georgia College and State University's biology department, have said it's unlikely a tribe of 7-foot-tall creatures would have avoided discovery in a region popular among hikers, hunters and vacationers.
Several Web sites have popped up questioning the claim and comparing a photo that the men say is the creature's body inside a freezer to a widely available Bigfoot costume.
On Friday, Whitton acknowledged creating a pair of videos posted on the Internet video site YouTube, one in which his brother poses as a scientist and another in which Whitton briefly seems to admit that the body is a fake.
"It seems that the stalkers have busted us in a hoax," he says in the video. But then adds, "we still have a corpse. We just wanted to give you something to do for the weekend."
At Friday's news conference, Whitton first said that no video existed in which he calls the discovery a hoax.
But after speaking to Tom Biscardi, the self-described "Real Bigfoot Hunter" who has been searching for the creature of legend since 1971, he said the video was made "to have a little fun with it" and was originally intended to throw off the "psychos" who had stalked him and his family since the men first made their claim.
The two also promoted a Web site registered to Whitton on June 16 and said they plan to write a book about their experience.
Friday's news conference was held in Palo Alto, California, near the home of Biscardi. About 100 reporters and onlookers attended the event, in a hotel banquet room, including a man who shouted questions while wearing a gorilla suit.
Dyer and Whitton said they were carrying a video camera during their hike to film wildlife.
They said they handed the body over to Biscardi, who is keeping it at an undisclosed location until a team of scientists can examine it.
One of the two photographs the men gave to reporters Friday showed what appears to be the creature's mouth, an effort to disprove allegations that what's in the photo is a costume.
"I want to get to the bottom of it," Biscardi said. "I'll tell you what I've seen and what I've touched and what I've felt, what I've prodded was not a mask sewed onto a bear hide, OK?"
Biscardi acknowledged that he promoted a fake Bigfoot discovery in 1995, saying the woman who claimed to have the body convinced his staff members before he visited her and discovered that she was mentally ill -- No shit?!?!?
______________________________________________________________________________________
Okay, I like to thank CNN and Time Magazine first off. Secondly, WTF? and thirdly, show me the fucking money. Where is the scientific community thus far. Why all the secretive shit surrounding this mythical creature?
You would figure that this could be very big news, you know a huge creature that is actually real and that could inveterate all those so called "wing nuts" out there that claim they saw Bigfoot. Least in part, some of them anyway.
I am not getting prepared to call my Uncle Bill up in Oregon and give him a formal apology about all those times I gave him grief about this critter. Yes, I think everyone has an "Uncle Bill" in their family that believes in Bigfoot or other legends of creatures in the night, sort of speak. I, by the way, still stand on the notion, if Bigfoot is indeed a real creature, then it is more than likely an Ape. DNA will prove or disprove my own personal theory on this matter once and for all.
Now, to tell the truth, if indeed Bigfoot is real and all, I must call my Uncle up and give him his kudos. On the other hand, if all this amounts to is another hoax, then the "good ole' boys" in Georgia should be brought up on charges and summarily shot in their guts with a very high powered rifle for adding to the bullshit of this legend.
Don't get me wrong, I love legends, or stories of legends. I am a big fan of story telling, traditional story telling that is. You know, the occasional ghost stories of hauntings, and living here in Deadwood, South Dakota there is more ghosts per square foot than anywhere in the United States and Canada combined.
I will go on to say, it will give merry old England a run for their money and willing to go toe-to-toe with them.
I digress...
Legends are wonderful, they're there to pass the time in thought, they're not there to prove or disprove and let us think only for a moment -- Jumping out of reality thus far and say, "If the latest shit about Bigfoot is indeed true..." then another legend dies in so many ways. The romance of the "Bigfoot" legend is gone, gone forever perhaps.
What's next, the Lochness Monster?
That's another mythical creature that my Scottish family is torn right down the middle. I am on the other side of the fence with the likes of my Grandmother that vehemently disagrees with the likelihood that this creature is real.
I would like to believe that Old Nessie exists, but scientifically, the Loch (where my ancestral home is) cannot support such a creature or a group of creatures in the succession assumed by the time and age of this legend. The creature would have to be several hundred years old. No, sir, probability dwindles down quite quickly and fucking fast -- Something like One's own virginity on Prom Night, I suppose.
I will say in defense of these so called creatures, the scientific community has over the years found creatures that thought they were extinct or non-existent to be hanging around. Remember the Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas turns out to be a rare breed of Ape.
Like torn Hymen, another legend dies...

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-08-16T18:03:27Z</dcterms:modified>

Bigfoot Found?

From the Desk of a Demented Mind...
Could it be true, that the fabled Bigfoot legend may draw to a close once and for all? Some in Georgia, USA may think so. I found it odd, that there isn't more information right now splattering across the media and Internet -- But then again, why should it be, that is, thus far.
From the AP in Atlanta:
ATLANTA (AP) -- Two men claim they've bagged Bigfoot, and they say the have the hairy corpse of the legendary creature stored away in a freezer. Matt Whitton and Rick Dyer say they stumbled across the corpse in the woods of northern Georgia, across the country from the remote regions of the Northwest where people usually claim to see the man-ape.
Still, the Georgia men say DNA will prove once and for all that the frozen creature is Sasquatch. They plan to present DNA test results and photographs during a news conference Friday in Palo Alto, Calif.
They're not winning over any skeptics, though.
"What I've seen so far is not compelling in the least, and I think the pictures cast grave doubts on their claim," Jeffrey Meldrum, a Bigfoot researcher and Idaho State University professor, told the Scientific American. "It just looks like a costume with some fake guts thrown on top for effect."
Meldrum said the DNA test likely won't prove anything and, at best, might yield a gene sequence that doesn't match any other known primates.
Whitton, an officer on medical leave from the Clayton County Police Department, and Dyer, a former corrections officer, announced the discovery in early July.
The picture they sent out in a news release and on their Web site - http://www.bigfoottracker.com - shows what appears to be a hairy corpse crammed into a chest freezer. The accompanying announcement describes the creature as a 7-foot-7 male, weighing 550 pounds with 16-inch human-like feet and reddish hair.
Messages left for Whitton and Dyer early Friday on their Bigfoot Tipline were not returned. They have so far offered three different tales so far about how they came to find the creature:
In one, the animal was shot by a former felon, and the men followed it into the woods. In a second version, they found a "family of Bigfoot" in North Georgia mountains. In the third, the two were hiking and stumbled upon the corpse with open wounds.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Reserve spokesman Tom Mackenzie said officers also are not taking the claim seriously and will not investigate Bigfoot because it not a federal priority.
"It's not on endangered species on any list that we've got," Mackenzie said.
______________________________________________________________________
I grew up in Oregon, so I heard a good many stories of this mythical, (and if the scientific community proves this oddity legit) creature. Yeah, even as a kid I believed that a good many of these "Campfire Fairy Tales" were just that, fairy tales.
I also thought as a young child, that perhaps if this creature is true, or actually exists then perhaps the mysteries surrounding it aside, this may be some sort of Ape. I am not alone into thinking this. Many call Bigfoot the "North American Ape."
If this new piece of information is actually true, then what? Will there be some sort of federally funded outfit that will protect these mammals?
I will imagine so. It will be interesting to see the truth revealed soon enough.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-08-15T19:47:09Z</dcterms:modified>

The New Linux Virus

From the Desk of the Demented...
Since I've been talking about the Operating Systems Wars of the Zealots, here's something from Symantec that all these Linux-Losers should take notice on...
Discovered: August 5, 2008
Updated: August 5, 2008 5:24:41 PM
Type: Trojan
Infection Length: 23,984 bytes; 664,296 bytes; 561,032 bytes
Systems Affected: Linux
Linux.Phalax is a Linux Kernel rootkit that installs a back door on the compromised computer.
Protection

Initial Rapid Release version August 5, 2008 revision 023
Latest Rapid Release version August 5, 2008 revision 023
Initial Daily Certified version August 5, 2008 revision 021
Latest Daily Certified version August 5, 2008 revision 021
Initial Weekly Certified release date August 6, 2008

Click here for a more detailed description of Rapid Release and Daily Certified virus definitions.
Threat Assessment

Wild

Wild Level: Low
Number of Infections: 0 - 49
Number of Sites: 0 - 2
Geographical Distribution: Low
Threat Containment: Easy
Removal: Easy

Damage

Damage Level: Medium
Payload: Opens a back door on the compromised computer.

Distribution

Distribution Level: Low

Writeup By: Alfredo Pesoli, Symantec

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-08-09T19:46:34Z</dcterms:modified>

An Entertaining Phone Call...

From the Desk of the Demented...
I've just received a phone call today from a friend of mine in Spearfish, South Dakota. He is also my client of my PC business and a fan of the Chronicles of Caledon. It has been some time since I talked with Gary. He is a very interesting person, and he too is an author, though currently unpublished working on some type of crime story if memory serves me correctly.
Gary is a connoisseur of high end PC and gaming, so every once in a while, I get an email with a question or my thoughts on a subject, he holds me in high esteem. Pity him. Nonetheless, I receive a phone call that he's been going to Joe Wilcox's Microsoft Watch an online tech blog owned by Ziff Davis Enterprises. I used to go to this site all the time when Mary Jo Foley ran it for some years. She has moved up to ZDNet Online, another IT/PC magazine. I have quit going to Microsoft Watch in a while, decided that the chief journalist seemed to be catering to the loud Linux crowd too much. His reporting, his journalism style began making the shift late last fall in some respects to the "trolling Microsoft bashing" comments. Hey, Microsoft isn't for everyone, and neither is Apple, and especially Linux. It was becoming increasingly harder to comment on a subject without someone mindlessly adding their zealot spiel about how much better Linux is over another operating system. Of course, the IT/PC Online magazines that cater to comments, all kinds of crap comes forth from the bowls of society.
I like Joe just the same, and hope for his continued career in journalism. That phone call? Yeah, anyway, Gary told me that he's been reading some articles, and of course commenting with the same results as I along with a good many other Microsoft fans out here, he gets riffled by the Linux zealots, he also invited me to come out and view it for myself, in which I did and by the way, it's really turning into a den of snakes with jealousy, hatred, and religious zealotry to rival the Shiites.
My friend, Gary, and he said it's okay to use his first name by the way, said "they" think it is you that has been doing all the commenting. Well, I can see partly why, he's using one of my books' name, and he does live in Spearfish. I, of course do not, but I live 13 miles south in Lawrence County.
Of course, in this day and age on the Internet, anyone can be somebody and especially on the Microsoft Watch comment forum where one does not need to register only provide an email unless that has changed.
It's easy to become someone, anyone under these conditions, and of course, there's the matter of IP addresses if the site captures these. I know all my sites do, and I am certain that Joe does as well, so I am not worried about it. But this sort of "slothfulness" does allow for people to think that someone is somebody when they are not. Gary wasn't being misleading, he didn't say that he was me, no, in fact he commented to a person named called "marco" a diehard pro-Linux ant-Microsoft basher, and a demented, misguided wanna-be psychiatrist. "marco" is one of those in a league of many of pointless comments that most people scroll passed to get to something of importance on the web.
As I can read through the comments, there are several occasions that "marco" has accused other people of being someone else, and stating it was I. "marco" if you are as half as smart as you think you are, you should pick up on this article and find out for yourself, that once again, you're dead wrong -- as usual.
'Nuff said on this deadbeat ranter... "marco=Forgotten"
This raises another instance of the possibilities of the ambiguity and the anonymity of the web and the loose control features of some forums and or boards out here -- So beware. With all the problems, real problems out here plagueing us in the real world, the factor of which is the best of the Operating Systems for many is already a done deal, who cares?
For those that use the forums and boards, might I suggest to look out for the following best practices:
1.) Most forums use a validation system or mechanism of sorts and I am sure we've all experienced these. One is the "email" and "verify email" controls. Once you fill this out, the system send an activation letter to the directed email address given. This email validation letter has a control that can be used by a link going to an unlisted page with some sort of confirmation feature. It's general practice and it's easy.
2.) Once your account is activated, there is usually a session variable, or "cookie" that is placed on your system. This keeps your User ID and Password and the forum site can use this as a measure of authentication.
3.) IP Addresses; The so-called fingerprint of your computer. It isn't really all the time in every situation, but think of it as one. This fingerprint can be spoofed intentionally and more so nowadays than ever before. With my Internet Service Provider or ISP, it uses a proxy. Though mine is hidden within a dual protection system of both hardware and software, a proxy IP is still sent out furnished by my ISP. Most broadband companies do this. Unfortunately, if you have more than one machine, as I have several behind the firewall, only one IP address is seen by the public and can be traced only to my ISP account. It gives the Feds a chance to track you. I'm not worried about the Feds, or for that matter, web administrators either.
So with a proxy IP Address, you can have many users, many machines within your network and alls it takes is someone in your family or business to piss off an admin, and they think they have you. You may not know a damned thing about it.
I also have my wi-fi turned on to a public access to allow my neighbor to use the connection, the ISP only see my proxy address, not my machine, or the many I have. So in this situation, you best be sure who is using your system. Mine takes a WEP ID and Password to log on. I like my neighbor, but I won't go to jail for him.
Of course, he's off, and the credentials have changed. Was Gary doing any of this, nope, and I am certain he wouldn't be me no more than I would be him.
I made it a rule, never use a public forum without verification and authentication practices both client and server side. So that is part of the reason, a very small part, but a part just the same that I don't go and comment on Joe's site any longer.
On forums such as Microsoft Watch, there isn't a possibility of ID theft, the site doesn't ask for validation of an email address, a person can put in a bogus address and vent all they want. People can pretend to be somebody they're not. However, there is nothing to tie a "handle" or bogus name to the true individual and his or her identity. The pinhead as I mentioned thought so, thought it was identity theft when somebody may have used his handle, oh yes, Gary told me all about it along with the web administrator's warning to those culprits who did it.
Though this situation that Gary called me about is funny and as harmless to me as a rainy day in the Hills could be somewhat serious to you, the reader, if you got on a forum and something serious happened and I do hope this helps you in your Internet journeys.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-08-08T19:52:53Z</dcterms:modified>

Another Provocative Political and Petroleum Rant; Still In Denial?

On June 11th, 2008 I wrote the article listed below about several things to include that Governor Bush is a complete idiot and in my humble opinion, we as a nation may have been better served by a Crack Whore in office, of course, in so many words.
If anyone ever knows anything about me, it should be this; Douglas believes that Governor Bush did not win the presidential election, and that Bush is nothing more than a Chimp in a suit that can actually speak -- Though a real chimp might have something intelligent to say if it could. In addition, one might say that Doug, in his own mind and opinion is a proponent of alternative energy.
I also believe that Bush is nothing more than a liar, a cheat, and most certainly a war criminal condoned by the American public. Fellow Dave Chandler suggests so. Google yourself if you don't know or haven't thought about the travesty.
I also reserve the right for anyone to draw their own conclusions about me and my provocative writing and opinionated style -- If you don't like what and how I write something, the way I express myself, fine, go elsewhere, there are plenty of blogs, and this ain't no CNN...
A friend in Pierre, South Dakota asked me in an email who I would be planning to vote for. This friend of mine -- Name and identity is withheld intentionally by the way, suggested that he might vote for McCain. The reason that he is swaying to the Republican banner is simple in his mind and the key reason he stated is clear; "I'd like to vote for Obama, but he's waffling on things lately and I don't trust his wife much. So I'm leaning towards McCain, but he's got some issues that I take issue with." He is entitled to his opinion, and to me, I get the feeling this is a corporate induced thought. Meaning he listens to too many Republicans, or folks sitting on a fence, IMHO.
Oh, it would be time right now to let you, the reader know a little something about myself; I am an Independent with strong liberal views. I personally gage my vote on whom I believe is the best person for a particular office based solely on who would best represent my views, agendas, and that of the people in general in what I think would be the best guy or girl for the office running. I can give two shits on the political party they represent -- That is before the Bush administration. As of now, I am dead set against the Republican party -- I am enemy number one!
Here is a "provocative" illustration, I like using illustrations for clarity of thought and communication as a tool to help others, the readers to see the covalence of thought of what I mean. So here goes, "For anyone who just blindly votes, especially Republican based upon the party, or party loyalty that isn't a millionaire reminds me of a 16 year old girl giving out a free blow job under the bleachers in a small Midwestern town during a carnival while the Republican party has their hands busy up her little blonde ass."
What good is the Republican party for her?
What is she really getting out of it, other than the obvious mouth full of political cock and choking on their hot rhetoric dripping down her chin? -- Graphic enough?
The Republican party doesn't represent the youth, the working class, and obviously doesn't give a rat's ass about her. Hell, the illustration given above may be just their special way, the Republican way of thanking her for her future vote, that is when she turns 18 and becomes legal to vote in the first place.
By the way, every time I hear a person, those that fit or are demographically speaking that do not own a successful big business, or not millionaires and want to stay that way votes Republican reminds me strongly of that 16 year old girl with that Republican Elephant dick in her mouth -- I don't apologize, I just feel remorse for these people. I suggest to those who are Republican, to read up about the Republican values, and what the party stands for in specific. You will quickly find that the Republican party could care less for you if you are a middle-class taxpaying, hard working individual.
I would also invite you to do the same for the Democratic party too...
I would like to add before someone reading this finds out for themselves, South Dakota in general and in the historical sense is a Republican State and there isn't a whole lot of millionaires in this state -- So what illustration of the demographics come to mind? Yes, I am afraid so...
One thing this state, the state of South Dakota can use right away is some political mouth wash to get the Republican taste out of their mouths and immediately followed by; "Why am I voting Republican anyway?" Yes, check yourself, ask yourself a resounding question. "Is the Republican party really representing my needs and desires for the betterment of my personal life, and the life of the average American?"
By they way, our main export out of the state, other than the primary export which is our youth vastly leaving in droves is secondly, that of agriculture, and really, what has the Republican party in general really done for us in these two vastly export products? I don't know, I'm asking, it's a question.
Now let me rant on the Democratic party, a bunch of spineless wishy-washy fucks that refuse to rise up to the occasion of a dysfunctional country in general. Every time there was a chance for the Donkeys to rise up and kick the living shit out of the Elephants, these people folded like a weak hand -- In general.
So who am I voting for, really?
Before I answer this I would like to entertain you with this thought to dine upon first and that is simply this: I believe the biggest threat to the sovereignty of the United States is it's ever addicting and deadly, yes I said deadly use of petroleum based fuels, especially the foreign dependency that reminds me of a heroin junkie with the needle still stuck in his or her arm. So, having said this, I only really have one person that I can vote for, and it sure the fuck isn't McCain!
Over the last 30 to 40 years, 3 to 4 decades our dependency has shifted radically to the Middle East, these countries by the way, for the most part, harbor ill will for humanity both for the US and the European Union I might add. Yes, take Iran for instance, a viable and outspoken enemy of the United States and that of the free world for instance. Before I continue, I would like to add and agree with the likes of T. Boone Pickens and Senator Obama as well as countless of others that can see passed the bullshit of the media in simply realizing the most deadliest weapon out there in the "wild" is simply, a barrel of Mid Eastern OR South American, (mainly Venezuela) crude.
I would also like to say; therefore Venezuela has to be on the list of the most immediate threat to our nation's security in this situation of our deadly addicting needs on foreign petroleum.
Let's listen to some serious and in my opinion, food for thought. Here is a link to Senator Obama's message on Energy Independence. I would like to add, courtesy of CNN News.
Need more food for thought?
Check this factual and opinionated video here.
Now there are folks who may come here and read my rants, and there are a few that might be bold enough to add their opinions and comments -- Please feel free to do so, but some may think that this petroleum panic and issues that I have may be all in my head. Pity for those that still have their heads up their tiny little asses and can't see passed their own shit.
Before commenting to those I later described, provocatively I might add, please read my May 14th article first, then of course, do a Google on the subject that I am talking about and you can find out for yourself in a nearly non-biased way of obtaining this important, no, check that, imperative information first hand.
Crime is escalating because of the rise in gasoline in the United States -- A reaction to the action consequent to the addiction I speak of. Just the other day, a woman got herself busted for prostituting herself for fuel tickets. Ride off at the pumps, those that fill up and not pay for the fuel has increased substantially, exponentially over the last three months alone.
We will, without a doubt, be reading and hearing more of this in the news media as time progresses, I guarantee this and once again a reaction to the ever growing action of petroleum dependences in America alone.
Also, we should take into account the simple fact that other crimes, theft, burglary, and robberies will escalate directly because of the high cost of fuel -- Which is already proving the fundamental and rudimentary beginnings of my previous article on the subject. Hell, a man gives up medical insurance to pay for his usage for fuel.
So are you still in denial that we are not addicted to the use of petroleum, domestic or foreign?
Do you think the prices of Gas and Diesel is just a fad and it will go down?
Do you think that the rising costs of fuel will not contribute to the threat of National Security?
Do you think that the rising cost of petroleum is not contributing to violence and crime in the United States?
If you honestly answer "yes" to any of these last 4 questions, then I recommend two things;
1.) Get that Elephant dick out of your mouth now. You are an American that deserves a government working right for you right now!
2.) Do some serious soul searching on the information provided -- Get informed now! Be fucking dangerous, get knowledge, knowledge is power and the form of the fascist government we suffer in disgrace today loathes a powerful minded person -- That means you!
For extra bonus credits on your enlightening endeavor, try these propositions;
1.) What can I do to get involved in the riddance of the dependency of domestic and foreign use of petroleum in the United States.
2.) Wake up your friends to this NATIONAL THREAT TO SECURITY.
3.) Use mass transit, drive less, spend far less, and or ride a bicycle. I own Schwinn by the way!
4.) Work on giving the petroleum lobbyists and petroleum drunk induced whores on Capital Hill the fucking boot!
Lets put the fucking Mid-Eastern terrorists and their governments that condone their activities back into the goddamned stone age where they belong in the first place!
In Conclusion:
Wither or not you like my style, my opinion, and the way I express myself is regardless to the threat against America. The oil addiction affects everyone on the entire planet. We released the deadly genie in the bottle of crude called Carbon that is drastically and detrimentally changing the global environment no matter on your political stance, views, and opinions that you may have.
Over the last 4 decades, scientists, biologists, economists have warned all of us about the impending threat. For me it was sinking in a couple of decades ago, about the late 1980's is where I became a proponent of alternate fuels technologies in a bigger and more vocal way. I simply suggest that you, yourself look into the real deal of what in the fuck is going on.
I believe we have to give the petroleum age the fucking boot in America and consequently, the world. It's time to move on as a species, it time to give the Mid East, specifically, the OPEC Nations the hard goodbye by watching them turn to dust and return to the sands of time by refusing to buy there terrorist economy based oil -- What good are they without oil, economically and consequently the terrorist economy base.
Let us adopt a new way of thinking in the United States, let's not vote haphazardly on openheartedly on ignorant fool-hearty ideas of political loyalty to parties. Let us vote on important issues that affect us daily, that affect our generations to come in the future. I propose the attitude of the demise of the Republican and Democratic parties, they both suck and as corrupt as each other can be. I propose let us vote independently from these useless contrite party differences and vote on the issues and the possible solutions to end these issues based upon the merits of the person running for office instead.
I propose to America some serious critical thinking right now!
The United States Constitution gives us, the American public the option of ousting the current form of government, meaning giving these fascist idiots the walking papers in the first place. We can do this peacefully enough without cause of a stupid civil war -- Washington DC has no say, but they don't want you to know that, let's also give them the hard goodbye.
Let us elect as best as we can corporately as possible on folks that will represent the needs and desires of the people -- Let's try to do this now, let's continue to do this so that democracy in the United States will live on and be the light in a very dark world.
Let's replace fascism in the United States with a government that cares and thinks about it's citizens, and not about the fucking bottom line -- Government is not a corporation, a company, a financial banking institution -- If so, we are a very shitty bank with the national debt to prove my point succinctly.
Let's not get Doug started on the Public School System in America -- I can talk for days on this subject alone...
I invite you to read and comment. You may not agree, you may have a difference of opinion, and that's okay. I ask that you keep it real and I will promise that I WILL delete ignorance, mindless diatribes, FUD and flaming.
Peace!

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-07-12T18:41:35Z</dcterms:modified>

Governor Bush; The Idiot

Written By Douglas S. Taylor -- Author of the Chronicles of Caledon Series

Nations to stiffen sanctions to deter a nuclear Iran...

Bush said the prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran would endanger world peace.

"They can either face isolation, or they can have better relations with all of us," Bush said of Iran's leaders while capping his final European Union-U.S. summit -- Ooow, that will scare the living goat-shit out of them, won't it.

You gotta be thinking, WTF is this idiot doing. If we didn't have to be sold on some bad good, you know, the war in Iraq we would have had the military energy and funds to really go after the bad guys. No, we have financially and militarily over-extended ourselves so when a real threat arises, so we find ourselves like a little girl with our panties down and around our ankles and wondering why?

As of now, Iran finds itself under fire for defying three sets of U.N. Security Council sanctions and continuing to enrich uranium -- which can generate both nuclear fuel and the fissile material for the core of nuclear warheads. Iran insists that it has only civilian uses in mind for its nuclear program.

"A group of countries can send a clear message to the Iranians," Bush said. "And that is: We're going to continue to isolate you, we'll continue to work on sanctions, we'll find new sanctions if need be if you continue to deny the just demands of a free world." Big talk from a scrawny Texan. I bet the fucking towelheads are quaking in their boots over this one.

Bush essentially rejected the idea of possible government intervention to prop up the value of the U.S. dollar. He said he believed in a strong-dollar policy, but that world economies will end up setting the value of the dollar -- I thought he had quit cocaine years ago, where does this pinhead get this stuff?

Back to the Iran thing: Iran insists that it has only civilian uses in mind for its nuclear program. Yet it is under fire for defying three sets of U.N. Security Council sanctions and continuing to enrich uranium, which can generate both nuclear fuel and the fissile material for the core of nuclear warheads. Iran has also stonewalled attempts by the IAEA to delve into allegations that several Iranian projects appear to represent different components of a nuclear weapons program -- I think we've been through this process before in the Mideast, haven't we?

"A mutually satisfactory, negotiated solution remains open to Iran," the statement said. But the leaders also said that they would fully implement U.N. sanctions against Iran and were "ready to supplement those sanctions with additional measures."

Bush warned that if Iran ends up with a nuclear weapon, "The free world is going to say why didn't we do something about it at the time? ... Now's the time for there to be strong diplomacy."

Iran's central bank, also known as Bank Markazi, is involved in the deceptive acts, according to the U.S. government. The White House has been looking at new steps to cut off more Iranian banks from the international financial system and has been seeking backing from European allies.

Tensions over Iran are only rising. An Israeli Cabinet minister warned Friday that Israel will attack Iran if it doesn't abandon its nuclear program. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert distanced himself on Sunday from the statements but didn't explicitly reject them.

Verbal threats and political tensions have increased between Iran and Israel after Ahmadinejad said in 2005 that Israel should be "wiped off the map."

"First of all if, if you were living in Israel you'd be a little nervous, too," Bush said Tuesday. "If a leader in your neighborhood announced that they, he'd like to destroy you, and one sure way of achieving that means is through the development of a nuclear weapon -- therefore, now is the time for all of us to work together to stop them."

As for Israel, like they've done in the past and something that America really needs to consider, is a clandestine operation into ruining the Iranian Nuclear endeavor by doing a low-level flyby during the wee hours of the morning. Of course, it isn't like Israel has ever done something like this before.

I wonder what will happen, I mean, what will Governor Bush say when the world finds out that the Israelis knock the shit out of Iraq's nuclear dreams?

"Thanks again you little Jewish Country with balls of steel for doing the world's dirty work once again... And oh yeah, of course I was never here, and of course, I never said this so I don't loose any oil over it..." Bush hanging up his phone at the Oval Office...

I would dare venture to say, I will wage my last sheckal that Israel is already in the war room coming up with some serious shit in leveling those fucking ragheads back into the stone age!

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-06-11T01:13:44Z</dcterms:modified>

The Christian Hypocrisies -- Volume I: The Intolerance and Their Theocracies.

After obtaining a doctrine in Biblical Historical Studies, it didn't take long for me to challenge the Bible and consequently, my faith in the Jesus thing. The more that I've learned and experienced the religion, the more that I quickly deduced how full of putrid shit it really is. I could go on in very great detail that would challenge the fundamentals of the Christian Mythology -- After all, that's all it really is. In two words, I would recommend some serious reading, and those two words are, "Thomas Paine."

Let me skip through all the heaviness of what I was going to write and talk about my latest experience with a "Christian" I had in my company today. I work as a Slot Tech, Security, and other such duties and tasks at a Deadwood Gaming Casino. Yes, this person works there and has a gaming license. I guess she never stopped to consider what her Jesus said about being in the "Money Changers" business. After all, Gaming is nothing but the exchange of money. She would be better off being one of the Romans rolling dice under the crucifixion of Christ as he was looking down upon them -- She isn't the only "Christian" that works in such a place. But how fucking hypocritical can this be, a Christian displaying her unsolicited views and religious opinions while on the clock about anything that comes to mind?

Who fucking asked her in the first place? Anyway, it's just how it is there. I also like to say that I have a lot of fun fucking with her (lack of) understanding about the Gospels, how they came to be (historically) and the absolute lack of proof of logic and rational thought in her (idiotic and superstitious) ideas. I don't pride myself on the inner-workings and her Pentecostal theology, but every once in a while, more often than not these days, I do.

For instants today after I got off work, I was talking to one of my favorite bar tenders, and man, is she soft on some tired old eyes. So I sat there talking and had my "Puddle of Mudd" CD that I received from a friend that borrowed it. It had one of the "Parental Advisory" warnings on the CD cover. God damn, I wish they had this out when I was a kid, I would of bought every hard rock and metal CD without question!

So my "Christian" friend comes up and sees the CD there, "Oh what's this?" she asks and already she has that judgement shit eating sneer on her distorted face. She couldn't have evaluated the CD and its contents so fast, she just assumed that it was, "From Lucifer."

Then she saw the warning label, "Oh my gosh Doug, I never listen to stuff like this, nothing with such a label!" She gasps and continues as if she is holding the latest list of Satan's list of names he's taking to hell with him in the End of Days or something.

I smile coldly, "Yeah, you should check out the inside, they have an upside down cross with your Jesus nailed painfully to it -- Hell, it even has a pentagram with a Goat's Head in the middle. Oh yeah, talking about slinging a dead black cat around in the room -- It's fucking great!"

Again, you can see the twisted sort of fun I have. She immediately drops the CD back down on the bar as if the flames of Hell came up and burned her judgmental fingers. "Ha, now you're gonna go to hell for even touching it. You took the number of the Beast in doing so -- See you there. I'll be partying with Bon Scott and crew."

She doesn't know who Bon Scott is so that went over her head -- Damn!

Maybe I should send her a copy of Thomas Paine's; Common Sense along with ACDC's Highway to Hell for her listening enjoyment.

However the world is full of these mindless and opinionated hypocritical idiots stemming from the organized religions of the world.

You see it's these people, and trust me, there's a world full of them who can come to snap judgements and believe that they are the "Right Arm of God" who is on the ready to enslave your mind, soul, and financial accounts into their control. I for one am a guy wearing an Iron Maiden shit armed with a full can of Black Flag and a bic lighter to spray and light on these little minions of their so-called God.

You see, I am like most everyone out here, I believe in God, but there are many gods. The Christian, whoops, I mean, the organized religions say there is only one God. I know this is a lie. I mean, they say that the Bible is the Word of God, (John 1) and the Word is also the Son of God, and then there is God's bedsheet, the Holy Ghost among other things, but the true God of any organized religion is simply, "Money!"

Money is their real God -- "God needs our help, (volunteer work, Money, more Money, and then more Money)..." Yeah, the God I know needs no help and if Satan is really the enemy of God, why can't their God be strong enough to take him out?

After all, the Greatest Story Ever Sold is the mythology of Jesus anyway. I can go on with a metric ton of logic and common sense that would stave off the most radical of the religious mind, but I won't... Besides, I am having way too much fun fucking with their simple minds, and mind you, I may burn for this...

So I'll end here...

In Jesus Name...

Oh, PS -- For you religious Zealots, no need to comment or pray for me, you'll just prove my point.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-05-16T14:41:17Z</dcterms:modified>

Fuck Y2K, Let's Talk About The Real Threat!

An opinionated view by Douglas S. Taylor

In the historical view, beings that it is obvious to those who know me, I love history and I am somewhat of a scholar. I will also add a bit of a disclaimer in my blogs, and I will put it in here. I use adult language and colorful metaphors that might not be suitable for the religious thinned skinned and the youth (who by the way, uses more of these colorful words than I do.) Needless to say, you've been warned.
This article, like many others within my space contain such language and a spirited way of expressing my opinion and thoughts that may not be politically or socially correct in your views, and I say, fuck the majority anyway. Mind you, this is not CNN, though there are other blogs and media sources out here on the Internet that uses the realistic and commonality that favors my style -- Again you've been warned.
Having said this, let me continue with the article at hand. As a scholar of History and the current important things in the news, leastwise, important to me. Besides, I wrote about the media, primarily, the American media on how it entertains rather than really informs due to the entertainment, political, and the lackadaisical mentality of the American Public allowing the media to continue on at its present course in Journalism -- A farce in Journalism in my opinion. Cripes, don't even get me started about the American Public School System!
I will start out this article, least the meat and potatoes of it in this following statement, "Since the Revolution of the so-called Industrial Age is made primarily possible by the undermining and far bigger landscape of the revolution of the Petroleum Age." Without the technology of harnessing of Petroleum, the Industrial Revolution would be impossible. Coal to those who care to argue this point prematurely without the care and common sense of reading this article entirely, really need to check this out this fact before commenting. Without coal, Iron and later, steel, and other industrial metals would of been either a novelty, or what us Techs call, "Vaporware."
I will not waste the truly educated with the frivolous diatribes for the fear of being redundant to support my views and the latter opinions within this article like in so many other blogs that cater to the ignorant and what they might have to say.
In my humble opinion, I do not believe that we are in any other age or name for period of time, or epic in human history other than the Petroleum Age. From the Petroleum Age comes all things since -- Need I point this long list out? -- Think not.
In all things in the modern epic, for lack of any other word, nothing could be possible, nothing that is, as one would call modern is directly and ever so succinctly as to the technologies and industrial revelations forthcoming in result of the Petroleum based fuels and products. Without the necessity of oil based technologies and consequently, its byproducts, it would be impossible for you to even view this via the computer and Internet.
It should be a foregone conclusion in thought without the need of me to bring this fact to life, henceforth, here it is: "Without the Petroleum Age the advancements in medical, science and technology, the common way we live in the industrial world would not have been where we are at today. The lifeblood of all the industrial world is oil and coal that flows through our veins and there is no exception to this rule..." I will go on to say, "...Directly influenced by the Petroleum Age is the absolute burst in the world population as a result of uncapping the evil genie in the bottle, the oil."
It is time for me to ask a question to those who are reading this and that is simply this; Do you think the world can support a global expanse of the population without the necessity of oil?
I for one, obviously think not. I mean to say, the very next world war will really be fought over the consumption of Petroleum. Do you still believe that the Iraq war is fought over or about Weapons of Mass Destruction? Okay, really, it's my second question...
It is widely said that the Petroleum Age has passed its peak production period and we are on a deadly slippery slope of exhausting the Petroleum resources of the world. You may wish to argue this point, but I believe, and personally that is this; that we have just passed this point, or we will pass it in less than 5 years from now.
If we look at the world's largest country, China, it has doubled its Petroleum Guzzling, okay, its consumption by 100% in the last 5 years and according to scientific and economic studies, China will quadruple its Petroleum consumption of what it is today in less than 10 years from now that will rival if not surpass the current leader in Petroleum Products and usage, the United States.
Right now in the news, anywhere in the news we can see the outcome of our precious addiction to the Petroleum Age -- First we must get passed the "entertaining" aspects of the media to the real news, that is, if that's even possible in the first place.
It is a foregone conclusion as well to say in this, "...that the Petroleum Age will come to a crashing end and as a result will be more of the violence stemming from the shortage of the precious life blood of the industrial age."
As Einstein made mention, "World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones..." However, I for one will believe that World War III will be fought over oil and the Arabs will once again be plummeted into the stone age where they belong in the first place by their lustful need of greed and usery -- That's a story for another time.
To prove my point made in the above paragraph, we already see food riots. Not because there is no food, but it's becoming ever so increasing economically difficult to get food to people with the ever escalating prices directly from fuel that is added to the overall cost of growing and harvesting the food, not to mention, the cost of transportation in the direct result of the diminishing, scratch that, the evaporating Petroleum Resources -- Duh, if this comes to a revelation to you right now, the rest of this article maybe too much for you to grasp, but please, read on for Christ sakes.
Gasoline in America will hit and surpass $5.00 a gallon by Summer's end and will become commonplace throughout the American Empire. I also believe by 2010, it will hit $10.00 a gallon in the Summer and by 2011 will be commonplace. People are already planning shorter vacations and travel less -- Why?
With the growing costs in transportation and other costs escalating in the manufacturing of products, any products that are based on Petroleum, will continue to handicap our current way of life and the grip will continue to strengthen until it chokes the life out of us all.
For us Americans paying $12.65 billion a month for a war and the depletion of the Petroleum Age's resources, we will surely pull out of the war, we will have no financial capital to continue on with this terrible drain upon life and financial resources. We are already in a massive decline, a recession that will no doubt throw us into yet another great depression without a change in politics and government control over this maddening era of atrocious leadership and the current status of the politics we suffer to endure. In plain English, we can't afford the war in Iraq and if you asked me years ago, I would of said the same thing then based upon the lack of evidence that shows Iraq as a real threat. No sir, I say there are far more important countries to worry about first -- A topic for another time...
Shit, I didn't even talk about Global Warming which is in the direct result of the Petroleum Age as a byproduct of too many carbon molecules released from the use of Coal and Oil. I choose to speak of Global Warming elsewhere, perhaps in another blog topic or something -- Moving on...
Again, we are already reading about food shortages, riots, and violence resulting of the dwindling Petroleum Resources. Also, it's time for another question; "Do you think that these measures of violence is just gonna go away on their own?"
If you say yes, you're immeasurably naive and you should stop reading here, because there is nothing I can do to help you out of your ignorance and naivety -- I am at a loss if that's the case -- IMHO.
Instead of wasting our time in affording you a plethora of information that will no doubtfully substantiate and expeditiously prove my points made with scientific and economic data forecasting a turbulent and near alien future that many of us has or have really no clue about, that is, with the exception of those who lived in during the Great Depression will be forced to endure. Yes, the future will indeed be quite different than the reality we live in today.
First off, People that lived a couple of hundred years ago would view us as living like Gods, and consequently, those in the not to distant future will as well if we stay on the present course.
I do not mean to sound so fucking down or mean to sound like a trolling "doomsayer" but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that the way of life, the standards that we currently live in is akin directly and if I can be as so bold to say as, "genetically" to the Petroleum Age -- The current path is bleak at best.
It also doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the world economy will plummet into chaos, war, pestilence -- Shit, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will be unleashed upon the world -- I say this only in the sarcastic contempt I have for the Christians who are as useless as anyone else in this scenario, or WILL find their superstitious and hypocritical asses in the same mire as everyone else -- Where's your god now?
Let's talk about what WILL happen on the current course we are all on and I don't have to go to far into the future and no need for me to plug in my Crystal Ball or some other mystic means to predict the things to come. I instead will use the proven science of History to bring forth my conjuring.
Considering the massive pain of implementing alternative resources to quill the thirst of Petroleum, a pain that will be bitterly felt in retrospect to the demanding usage of this technology in respects to the United States, very painful indeed. The withdraws from petroleum is proportional to the consumption -- The more you use, the more it's gonna fucking hurt and impact your or our society in general.
People will be put to a great pain of the petroleum withdraws. Oh, and I love to be wrong here in saying this next statement, but nevertheless, here it is. "The American Public in general is very complacent in nature and there really shouldn't be any argument there, but I believe as disdain as it may be, America will lean towards war rather than innovation and implementation of alternate technologies.." Unfortunate as this sounds, this is my (bitter) opinion upon the current course.
Instead of taking on the financial burden of strapping and conserving the Petroleum Resources in other avenues and paying both the economical and higher human endeavors in achieving the elimination of addiction of the Petroleum Age, we will sooner go to war and waste lives of our youth and really, for what, more fucking oil?
The Petroleum Age will end anyway, regardless of what the outcome of war will bring?
In my humble opinion, if it takes a couple of trillion dollars to research and create Hydrogen Technology to be used in both the Automotive and transportation industry for the masses, so be it. Hey, in the 1960's didn't America send a man to the moon, and if so, what's the big fucking deal in sending water vapor as a byproduct of a automobile burning Hydrogen out of One's fucking tailpipe?
It's all about hard work, engineering, and of course money and lots of money in research and the implementation of such endeavoring work. Let's give all the corporate politicians that are directly influenced by the greed-mongering Petroleum Industry their walking papers and let's get into everyone's head that war is not the solution and as history proves, never really works in the first place, we'll all starve to death (petroleum speaking) eventually anyway.
For those who believe that we can have the alternate fuels without, shall I say, "the growing pains" resulting in the withdraw of Petroleum is living in an unrealistic and an utopic induced fantasy -- Again, I can't help you and I don't know what to say to you folks believing this.
Other than... The real deal...
I believe Hydrogen Technology is only possible in making the technology affordable, cost effective and research requires large injections or infusions of money and government support. I also believe that it's far from being at the pumps yet and because of the uneducated and common Petroleum Age addictions in America, it will be sometime in the not-so near future. I am an optimist and believe it will eventually come, that is especially when America pulls it's head out of its hemorrhagic ass and spits out the bad taste of petroleum out of its wretched mouth!
In the meantime while we wait on the good scientists and a newly reformed government to write them the check to get rolling full steam on this, let's look at some of the other alternative technologies that are tangible for us all, now.
1.) Nuclear Fission powerplants: More of these plants will be coming on-line to replace the coal burning and natural gas plants. I know about the dangers of nuclear power, but I also know the dangers of the human mind pitted against survival.
I shall propose this question to you "Which is ultimately more dangerous?"
2.) Ethanol Production: I believe that Ethanol production from Corn and especially from certain grasses in America for Americans is the solid short-term answer in production of alternate fuels for the transportation industry. We need this now! We need this to replace diesel and gasoline driven automobiles and anything with the current combustible engines running on Petroleum based technologies. I would recommend watching "Modern Marvels" episode on Corn by the History Channel. The uses of corn is mind-blowing alone. Of course, I would like to say the energy return on using wild grasses that grows along the central United States, it gives the biggest bang for the return in energy -- Check it out!
3.) Wind Turbine Generation: I certainly agree with others that Wind Generation is not the single answer along with any other current alternative answer for a quick fix in our addiction from the Petroleum Age, it will take all. However, along with other alternative technologies, it will definitely help. Read this and then get back with me.
I live in South Dakota and I would love to have the capital to have my own personal Wind Generator and Solar Panels to not only provide electricity, but hot water to boot. Can you imagine if everyone in America took this Petroleum Debauchery seriously?
4.) Solar Power Generation: As I touched on in the previous topic above, this can really be practical for the consumer, people like you and me especially when the cost of the manufacturing the solar cell technologies drop in price and further breakthroughs can be made. So read this for how it works.
There's other out here such as methanol and other alternatives. There is no one single solution to answer of the petroleum addiction suffered by the United States and the rest of the world. However, we need to make these changes yesterday, not tomorrow.
I built a solar heat generation panel that powered the hot water tank used for showers and laundry machines while I was stationed in Egypt. It was 100% solar powered including the circulating pump that was electric running of a 12 DC system powered by a battery charged by a solar panel. I did this back in 1986 and as far as I know, it still may be working today out there in the sand. Point is, all of this can be done. I built one in Alaska and worked surprisingly well (for me) and helped with the electric bill substantially, even in bone-chilling temperatures.
My point is simply this, even if you and I roll up our sleeves, read up, educate ourselves and visit the hardware store and built a low-cost energy savings device or implement an alternative way of substantially saving on our energy consumption and monthly bill. We all can do a lot in striving for a petroleum free future -- Besides, one way or another, eventually, we'll be forced to be there anyway, regardless.
In my humble opinion people were scared shitless, in general about the fear of Y2K and all the pandemonium produced by that event. Banking institutions and especially the Soothsayers of the Doom and Gloom Committee out there made millions off of the fear-generating marketing avenues. That wasn't a real threat -- Just pandemonium bullshit. Consequently, I didn't really give it another thought then at the time and knew the world would be just fine come the 2nd of January, 2001.
However, I do not feel the same way about the abrupt and consequently the result of the cataclysmic end of the Petroleum Age, and it's real, and it's coming. No matter how fast we move on embracing the Alternate Fuels Technologies made available, we're still going to feel the horrendous pains of the Petroleum withdraw -- There's no getting away from that with our complacency.
Brazil has taken a leading roll in freeing itself evermore from the Petroleum Age, and why can't we? Yes, maybe more than a question towards us Americans rather than a factual statement, but look into that.
I also believe that the American Grandeur, the apex of our greatness has passed giving way to individual and political greed, incompetencies amok, denial, lackadaisical and self-serving attitudes that will finally bring America to her drunken knees in regards to the bitter end of the Petroleum Age and its addiction.
And my final question in this matter to you is this, "Will America survive the end of the Petroleum Age?"
Treat Knowledge As A Weapon, And Arm Yourself Now!

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-05-16T02:51:05Z</dcterms:modified>
<it
